Talk to a local gas engineer

Tell us what is going on — a boiler fault, a service due, a certificate needed or a new appliance to fit — and roughly where you are. That is usually enough for us to advise and give you a price.

Before you call, it helps to know

• What the problem is — no heat, no hot water, a leak, an error code, or a service that is due
• The boiler make and model — if you can see it, it helps us come prepared (but do not worry if not)
• Your postcode — so we can tell you when we can get to you
• Owner or landlord — landlords, let us know if it is a rental and whether tenants are in
• How urgent it is — a complete breakdown in the cold gets treated differently to a routine service
